Važecká Cave is located between Poprad and Liptovský Mikuláš on the western outskirts of Važec village. The cave is situated at an altitude of 784 meters and is located close above the river Biely Váh.

It is decorated mainly with stalagmites, stalactites and flowstone. In the cave there can be found also various silt. Their origin is assumed to be from Biely Váh or waters of Priepadlá valley.

Važecká Cave is a limestone cave and due to frequent and significant annual climate changes it significantly effloresces.

Važecká Cave is definitely worth a visit during your holiday in Slovakia. In the cave reportedly live several species of bats. At the same time it is an important paleontological site of cave bear Ursus spelaeus and spiders of the genus Eukoenenia spelaea.

Važecká cave is open to the public excluding December and January.
