High Tatras are the highest Slovak mountains and as well the highest part of the whole Carpathian arc. High Tatras have many peaks with altitudes over 2000 m (Gerlach, Lomnický, Kežmarský, Jahňací štít, Rysy, Končistá, Kriváň). The highest point is Gerlach with a height of 2655 m.
Although Tatras can be considered alpine landscape, high mountains designation can not be attributed to them, because there is no permanent glacier here. Nevertheless, it can be considered unique mountains with many natural and tourist attractions to discover, where you can plan a longer holiday.
Although the holiday in the High Tatras in our people instinctively raises rather luxurious and expensive form of rest and relaxation, but cheap holiday in the Tatras is not impossible.
