Mountain hotel Sliezsky dom is the highest located hotel in Slovakia and was completely renovated in 2011. It is situated near Velické pleso tarn, directly under the highest peak of Slovakia - Gerlachovský štít.

Mountain hotel Sliezsky dom offers a great opportunity to spend your holiday in Slovakia. There is available accommodation in 36 rooms and 8 suites, respecting the character of the mountain architecture.

Rooms are furnished very comfortably, there are available a separate bathroom with bath, or shower, minibar, internet connection throughout the hotel premises, TV etc. Special accommodation services include room furnished related needs of disabled guests.

Furthermore you will find a restaurant with 50 seats in the hotel. Tourists can choose self-service restaurant with traditional delicacies. There is also an external terrace and conference room for 30 people available.

The hotel is accessible via asphalt road as well as on foot via marked tourist trail. The starting points to Sliezsky dom trip are villages Tatranská Polianka, Tatranské Zruby, Nový and Starý Smokovec.

Chata pod Rysmi is the highest located Tatras mountain hut. It is situated at an altitude of 2250 m under mountain pass Váha at the end of Mengusovská valley. During your holiday in High Tatras you should visit this nice chalet.

Chata pod Rysmi is open in the period from 15.6. to 31.10 and it is mostly visited by tourists heading towards the top of Rysy and climbers, as there are a lot of beuatiful tours in the vicinity for example in the face of Ganek.

Peak Rysy also serves as the border crossing to Poland. Chata pod Rysmi serves as the mountain rescue service station as well. Completion of the new chalet has been realized recently. It should offer more space and have higher resistance against avalanches.

Access to Chata pod Rysmi is the red mark from Štrbské Pleso, and further in the direction of the Rysy ascent - blue and then red mark again along the tourist path. from the Polish side it is accessible from Morskie Oko tarn over the top of Rysy, however, that path is considered more challenging, due to exposed terrain.

Popular Téry mountain hut is the highest open all year round Tatras hut. It is located in Malá Studená Valley, at an altitude of 2 015 m. There are five Spiš tarns situated nearby. Visit of this hut is one of the most classic hikes during holiday in High Tatras.

Access to Téry hut is from Starý Smokovec over Hrebienok, and Zamkovského chalet via marked trail leading along the Malá Studená Valley. It is also accessible from the north through Javorová Valley throu Sedielko pass and Pfinova kopa.

The hut itself is an ideal logistic point when making crossings of Tatras mountain passes (cottage is located near the passes Baranie, Priečne and Prielom), mountaineering, ski mountaineering or climbing as well as main target of a hike.

Téry mountain chalet offers you to spend a pleasant holiday in the mountains. 24 beds in three rooms is available to the visitors, in case of emergency, it is possible to expand the capacity. The hut has a dining room with warm food and beverage offer.The cottage serves as mountain rescue service station.

Téry mountain hut is heated by solid fuel. Currently available is electric lightning thanks to solar panels. The cottage has its own staff, the supplying is ensured by the mountain porters.

Zamkovského Chata mountain chalet

Zamkovského Chata chalet is hidden between conifers at the bottom of Malá Studená Valley near the border of the forest at 1475 m. It is the right place for refreshment during the hikes on your vacation in High Tatras.

The chalet was built in the years 1942-1943 by a popular mountain guide and climber Stefan Zamkovský.

Zamkovského Chata is situated at the crossroads of popular tourist marked trails and is open year round.

Access is possible along the red trail from Hrebienok or from Skalnaté pleaso tarn, and the green marked trail from Téry mountain hut. From Hrebienok it is an easy hiking, which is a good choise when hiking with children.

Accommodation is 6 rooms with 25 beds. In the chalet there is dining room, serving warm meals. There is as well an outdoor terrace available.

Zamkovského Chata chalet is heated by solid fuel boilers and supplied by porters from storage at Hrebienok. There is a mountain rescue service station located here.

During your holiday in Slovakia Zamkovského Chata can be a suitable target for shorter trips with small children.

Chata pri Zelenom Plese mountain hut

Chata pri Zelenom Plese mountain hut, which is also known under the name Brnčalka by climbing instructor Albert Brnčal was built at an altitude of 1551 m in the Valley of Zelené Pleso on the banks of the lake of the same name.

This object belongs to most popular High Tatras huts with a long history. It is an often target destination during hiking holiday in Slovakia.

Located in the beautiful surroundings of the nearby peaks, especially for climbers popular Malý Kežmarský peak with the highest wall in the Tatras. Its northern wall attract a number of climbers, but as well tourists because it is really impressive. The valley below dominates the beautiful Jastrabia veža peak. Among the most popular peaks is as well Jahňací štít.

The chalet outdoors offers excellent opportunities for hiking, alpine skiing and mountaineering. It is possible to cross the nearby Baranie sedlo mountain pass, which is the beginning of the transition of Tatras passes in the east-west direction.

Chata pri Zelenom Plese is accessible from several directions. Visitors can get here from Skalnaté pleso tarn through Svišťovka pass from which are beautiful views. The hut is also accessible from Belianske Tatry through Kopské sedlo pass, or Tatranské Matliare village.

Accommodation capacity is 12 rooms of about 60 beds. The cottage is equipped by a dining room with hot meals, drinks and souvenirs offer.
Supply is ensured by off-road car via yellow marked trail.

Chata pod Soliskom mountain chalet

Chata pod Soliskom, one of the most famous Tatras chalet is located at 1,840 m. and is situated on a hillside of Predné Solisko peak. While on holiday in the Tatras here lot of tourists tend to visit here.

Chata pod Soliskom is accessible by cable car from Štrbské pleso tarn or by blue marked trail for about an hour and a half. The chalet is open year round, accommodation is available in two rooms with 11 beds.

There is a dining room in place, which offers meals, drinks, and like most of Tatras huts - souvenirs. The attractions of the chalets include beautiful views of the Podtatranská Valley, Low Tatras and Kriváň peak.

Marked trail from the chalet leads you to the top of Predné Solisko peak.

Chata pod Soliskom serves as good refreshment point during the circular hiking through Mlynická and Furkotská valley. Climbing and ski mountaineering in this area focuses on Solisko ridge and other peaks in adjacent valleys. In winter it is a nice refuge and shelter and along with nearby slopes it is a paradise for skiers on winter vacation.

Zbojnícka chata mountain chalet

Zbojnícka chata is notoriously famous mountain hut and is located in Veľká Studená Valley. It was reopened in 2011 after it was built on the original foundations of burnout chalet.

Access to the hut is possible from Hrebienok, or adjacent valleys. It is open year round and during your holiday in High Tatras offers an excellent base for hikers, climbers and alpinists.

The chalet is an ideal resting point during the transition of mountain passes - located near Priečne and Prielom passes. Zbojnícka Chata can also be the main objective of hiking trips, climb on it is quite demanding for a regular tourists.

Zbojnícka Chata chalet has a dining room with 50 seats and dormitory with 16 beds and provides convenient accommodation for longer stays. The dining room staff offers standard foods and drinks. There is also a possibility of using a kitchen equipped by a gas stove here,  and also replenish water, or dry out the clothes.

A nice relax is offered by the outdoor terrace overlooking the valley and surrounding peaks. Mountain porters supply the chalet, occasionally the helicopter. The electricity is supplied by petrol engines, wind generator and solar panels. Mountain rescue station is located here as well.

Bilíkova Chata mountain chalet

Bilíkova Chata mountain chalet, currently classified as a hotel, is situated at a height of 1255 m near Hrebienok and is accessible relatively quickly from Starý Smokovec via asphalt road. Distance from the mentioned mountains village is 2.5 km.

The hut is open year round and is often used as a rest point during tours to the wider surroundings. In winter Bilíková Chata chalet offers ski mountaineering and ice-clibing courses.

Accommodation represents 29 beds in 13 rooms in apartments with shower, toilet and television. Guests have the opportunity while on holiday in High Tatras visit local restaurant, or tavern with a fireplace. There is also a terrace available here, overlooking the Popradská kotlina Basin.


Chata Plesnivec chalet

Chata Plesnivec mountain chalet was built at 1290 m at the end of the Dolina Siedmych Prameňov valley, on the southeastern slope of the Bujačí hill in Belianske Tatras and is definitely worth a visit during your holiday in Tatras.

It is a very cosy chalet with a nice atmosphere, perhaps because it is located outside the popular tourist routes.

Access to Chata Plesnivec is Ždiar, Tatranská Javorina or from Zelené pleso tarn along marked trails.

Accommodation offers 20 beds. The services also include a dining room offering warm meals, drinks and the opportunity to purchase souvenirs.

Mountain hotel SOREA Hrebienok

Mountain hotel SOREA Hrebienok is located on the southeastern slope of the Slavkovský štít peak. Access from Starý Smokovec is possible on foot, by car, or by cog railway.

Accommodation is available in suites, single and double rooms with extra beds, which are equipped with shower, toilet, telephone, radio, color TV and a balcony on the south side. A total of 112 beds are available. Families with small children can borrow a cot.

The hotel is cabaple to accommodate guests with pets.

Regarding meals available is hotel's restaurant, self-service dining room and a coffee bar. There is also the possibility of organizing events.

Nearby Hrebienok is a well known starting point for mountain hiking to the Veľká and Malá Studená Valley while on holiday in the High Tatras. Very close to the hotel is located a popular attraction - Studenovodské Waterfalls. In winter it is possible to use the services of Hrebienok ski resort suitable for beginners and experienced skiers as well.

Skalnatá Chata mountain chalet

Skalnatá Chata is situated on the doorstep of Skalnatá Valley at an altitude of 1751 m. Originally, it is also known as the ,,cavern".

Skalnatá Chata mountain chalet belongs to open year-round alpine facilities. There are 8 beds in two rooms available.

Guests can find a dining room, bathroom as well as a toilet here. Supply operates through a cableway. Services of the chalet are mainly used by tourists coming from Hrebienok to Skalnaté pleso tarn, or Zelené pleso tarn. Access is also possible from Tatranská lomnica cableway, or via marked trails.

In winter there are ski slopes available in the area near Skalnaté Pleso Tarn.

Rainers mountain chalet

Rainers mountain chalet - oldest hut on the south side of High Tatras built in 1863 by John George Rainer. During your holiday in Slovakia it may be an target shorter hikes. In the chalet there is located a nice mountain museum.

Later - after building Kamzík hut in 1884 it ceased and after restoration occurred in 1998. Nowadays, the biggest attraction of this particular object is an exhibition of the past and present mountain porters, mountaineering collection of old tools and old skis.

Overall, the chalet is an example of one period od alpine buildings architecture. Occasionally during the season modest refreshement is offered here. Accommodation is not provided and the cottage has no staff.

Other attractions include traditional program with a snow Bethlehem. Rainers mountain chalet is open in winter and summer season only on weekends. It is accessible from several directions, for example from Hrebienok and it can be good target for undemanding trips.

Majláthova Chata mountain chalet

In late February 2011, the renewed Majláthova Chata hut situated at Popradské pleaso tarn begun its operation.

The chalet is open all year round and provides refreshment and accommodation services. Accommodation represents four rooms with 14 beds.
The restaurant seats 50 people and an outdoor patio more than 200.

Majláthova Chata mountain chalet, despite only recently restored, maintains a historical look, that fits into the surrounding mountain scenery.

Access to the hut is possible via marked trail from Štrbské pleso tarn and is an appropriate target suitable for shorter trips during your vacation in High Tatras.
