There was mapped up to 19 bat species, having lived in a cave especially in winter. Jasovská Cave was inhabited in the Neolithic (bukovohorska culture), Bronze Age, Hallstatt era and Roman times.

According to history the cave discovered one of the Premonstratensian monks in Jasov. Residents of the village and monastery used the cave as a shelter. In the cave has been preserved variety of inscriptions and drawings. Inscription from 1452 records victory of the forces of Ján Ziskra from Bradýs.

Year 1576 in the Dome of the bats demonstrates that some of the cave parts were already known in the 16th century. In The cave was found a dagger with ornament, which probably dates from the period of Turkish expansion.

The cave  has been electrically lighted since 1926. If you decide to spend during the holiday a few  moments visiting Jasovská cave, you will enjoy great experience.
