One of the best things you choose during your holiday in Slovakia, is to visit Demänovska Ice Cave. The cave is located 10 km south of Liptovský Mikuláš in Low Tatras mountain range, on the right side of Demänovska dolina valley, near the Jasná Ski Resort. Information trail rises from the car park right up to the entrance into the cave in the length of 600 m.
Ice decoration is present in the lower parts of the cave, especially in so-called Kmeť Cathedral. The cave decorations include ground ice, ice columns, stalactites and stalagmites, which makes your visit very attractive tour.
The attractions include the bones of the cave bear, which have been discovered here. Eight bat species and several species of small cave fauna live in Demänovská Ice Cave as well.
