Gombasecká Cave can be found in Rožňava district, in the village called Slavec. It is open from 1955. The cave reaches a length of 1,525 meters. Gombasecká cave is famous for its unique underground decorations that you should not miss during your holiday in Slovakia.
Local straws are unique and very thin, hollow stalactites reach a length of 2-3 meters and the diameter is not more than 2-5 mm. Thanks to karst droplets containing calcite that makes the straws constantly to extend.
The total length of the cave is 1,525 meters, but only 300 meters was made available to the public. Gombasecká cave is part of several kilometers Silica - Gombasecká cave system.
If you decide to visit Gombasecká Cave already during the forthcoming holidays, you can do so from April to May 14 and from September 16 to October.
