During the winter holidays, enjoy unforgettable skiing, and in summer a refreshing relax in reservoirs and numerous water parks. Ascend wild peaks and explore deep caves. Gourmets can enjoy delicious specialties, but also wine from the southern slopes of Slovak mountains.

Visit the cities, where history blends ancient castles with the present trends of modern urbanization, but also forgotten hamlets, which still maintain unique culture and language. Plan your holidays in Slovakia and get authentic experience in this tiny country in the hearth of Europe.

Slovakia is one of the youngest countries in Europe. Country in wild transition from socialism to capitalism. Until the twentieth century it has never been an independent state, but always part of larger units. On Slovak territory have been alway spread and mixed different ethnic, cultural and religious influences, which the country owes its present diversity. Under the patronage of medieval castles grew side by side unique Romanesque rotundas, great mansions, modest wooden houses, and wooden Gothic churches.

Variety of preserved folk architecture is connected with the diversity of nature. Thanks to its location on the border of two contrasting natural units - Pannonian Plain and Carpathian Mountains can be a relatively small space to browse several types of natural and cultural landscapes. In terms of biodiversity Slovakia is one of the richest countries in Europe. In the Carpathian forests found their refuge beasts - that almost completely dissapeared in the western part of the continent - wolf, bear and lynx.

Slovaks themselves are characterized by their solidarity, which is especially noticeable in closer communities. People are partly characterized by conservatism. However, when the Slovaks decide to move, events can gain extraordinary power. In the middle of the last century, Slovakia was a country of farmers and shepherds. Today it is the most dynamic country in Central Europe with a strong background in IT technology and the automotive industry. No wonder. Slovak inventors have contributed to such technological revolutions as telegraph, parachute, camera lens, helicopter, ground water pumps and turbines.

Kind of symbolism of these discoveries are Slovak caves. Mysterious beauty is hidden underground. Discover it with us. Welcome to Slovakia!
