The best known include Štefánikova hut under Ďumbierom and Kamenná Chata cottage under Chopok, Ďurková Chalet under Chabenec. In the eastern part these shelters are without personnel (Andrejcová, Ramža), but with possibility to replenish drinking water. The starting points for crossing the ridge are Donovaly in the West Telgárt village in the eastern part.
Low Tatras are well known for many unique caves. The jewels include Demänovská Ice Cave , Bystrianska Cave or Dead Bats Cave. The wellness attractions include resorts as Tatralandia, Bešenová or Liptovská Mara reservoir.
