M. R. Štefániks Chalet under Ďumbier belongs together with Kamenná Chata chalet under Chopok to the main pillars of tourism in Low Tatras. It is one of the main points of rest during the passage of the ridge of the Low Tatras.
In its surroundings there is a wide range of skiing (ski resorts Jasná, Tále), ski mountaineering, climbing, paragliding, but especially beautiful hiking during your holiday in slovak mountains. Access to the chalet is possible via red marked trail on the main ridge, or via Jánska valley from the north or from the south side by ascent from Trangoška.

Štefániks Chalet offers six eight-bed rooms, warm meals and a regular selection of drinks like beer, kofola, tea etc. It is open year round.
Attractions around the chalet
Directly under the chalet - in the depths of Low Tatras main ridge is located Dead Bats Cave. It is possible to visit it and taste the genuine charm of Speleology. This cave is in fact made accessible to the public in almost original condition, as it was discovered. In this part of Low Tatras is also possible ascend to the summit of Ďumbier (highest point of these mountains), Chopok, or visit of several caves like Demänovská Cave of Liberty or Bystrianska Cave.
M. R. Štefániks Chalet under Ďumbier is a very nice stop during your vacation in the mountains of Slovakia. It is a convenient base for shorter stays in the mountains during the weekend, or main destination of your hikes with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains.
