For many years, in the historic town hall of Levoča is located a painting of a young, somewhat dreamy woman. It pictures a lady in white, with a red scarf draped over her shoulders, her eyes staring into the distance, with one hand calling someone, the other inserting a key into a lock on the door - unusual appearance.

Yes it's her - White Lady of Levoča. A lady, who betrayed the city. Caught in the most delicate moment of betrayal. Only her sees who is she calling in, only she knows why she betrays. Legend says it all, which is by its strong story often equated with reality.

For many years, the picture decorated the city hall hallway in Levoča. Not in situated in Levoča walls, in its original location, but in the museum, which was founded in 1886.
