Forestry museum in Vydrovská dolina valley - foresters answer to the questions from the public on the topic "forest, its meaning - forester and the importance of his work for the forest". Answer "Forest is here for people - foresters are there for the forest => foresters are there for the people" is evident on every meter of one hundred and forty hectare museum area.

On 71 stops of a three kilometer information trail, but also in many other places of the skansen the museum has a wide portfolio of responses to diverse topics related to forests. And the visitors really enjoy using this opportunity, because in recent years Forestry outdoor museum visited nearly 60,000 of them. During a short time existence of it (the foundation stone was laid 21.6.2002) it was already more than 300 000 people from Slovakia, but as well from 50 countries of all continents.

Most importantly - and that is shown by the entries in the commemorative books of the museum - all visitors leave the museum pleasantly surprised by the local forestry exposition, leaving with a good mood, highly praise the exposition, and - come again: with their friends, from home and abroad.

Of particular importance for children and young generation is the Forestry skansen in Vydrovská dolina valley. They often acquire elementary knowledge of the forest ecosystem and is a joy to watch during school trips hordes of students with teachers, as vividly and spontaneously respond to the information available in the beautiful environment of Vydrovská dolina valley.

Access to the Forestry skansen is very comfortable, as it is located only one kilometer far away from the village of Čierny Balog, which may be taken either by car to the parking place in the open-air museum, or by a popular Čiernohronská historical steam train railway. Open-air museum visit as well physically disabled people, who have sufficient opportunity to see many stops and Forestry skansen exhibits.

Admission expresses symbolic support to the forest and it is symbolic indeed. Furthermore the skansen is not fenced and therefore even after the official season, which lasts from 1. May 30. September, the museum in Vydrovská dolina valley is visited by thousands of people.
