Dunajec River and surrounding Pieniny are the main components of one of the most popular holiday regions in Slovakia. Dunajec diverts water from the Slovak territory to the Baltic Sea.

Its main components are Biely, Čierny Dunajec and Biela voda and its right afflux called Javorinka. From Nowy Targ it has a longitudinal flow to the east of the Slovak territory takes right-hand affluxes Osturniansky potok, Riaka and Lipník.

At its further flow Dunajec excavated in the limestone reefs unique gorge, the popular Dunajec gap. Next important afflux of Dunajec is called Lesnický potok. Dunajec rafting

Cruise on wooden rafts down the Dunajec river is what you should not miss during your holiday in Slovakia. Dunajec is the main attraction of Pieniny. It starts in the picturesque Červený Kláštor monastery.

The rafting fleet comprises approx. 40 sets on the Slovak side and about 80 sets on the Polish side, whereas rafting takes place on the river, which is also the state border. On one set, built mainly of five boats, that lead two raftmen, are transported twelve passengers. The raftmen often add many mysterious legends of this beautiful region.

The most famous stretches of Dunajec are included Tri Koruny peak, which were named after the event, when the kings of three countries divided the territory. Another important section is only 10 meters wide Jánošíks jump. According to a legend, Jánošík (most famous Slovak outlaw) made a selection of members to his group just based on who jumped over the river in this place.

Among the most famous points of the trip are included Holica hill imbricated with rock formations of Seven monks. A beautiful cruise on the Dunajec river ends near Lesnický potok stream.
