Spa Nový Smokovec rank among the most desired climatic spas in Slovakia. The spa is located in the Tatra National Park (TANAP), at the foot of Slavkovský štít peak.
Basics of spa tradition in Smokovce area laid in 1797 Count Csáky and 1876 MD. Nicholas Szontagh opened a new modern climatic spa in Nový Smokovec.
The main natural healing factor is mountainous and alpine climate that provide complex treatment effect on the human body. Spa Nový Smokovec achieve a high success rate in treating non-tuberculous respiratory diseases, states after repeated pneumonia and pulmonary operations, certain diseases of the metabolism and endocrine glands, occupational diseases, milder forms of neurosis or for overall physical and mental exhaustion.
The basic spa treatment at the Spa Nový Smokovec is called climatotherapy. In addition to traditional Finnish sauna and steam room, spa offers a wide range of other possibilities: steam sauna with aromatherapy or salt inhalation with eucalyptus aromatherapy sauna and infra - sauna.
It also offers experience showers, Kneipp foot baths, hydromassage bath seat, icefall for body massage, cooling tub, tepidarium and a jacuzzi for 6 persons with a hydromassage and whirlpool, all of which are intended to rest, relax and acquire new strength before returning to real life.
